5 Gay-Friendly places to visit in México

There are places in the world that are recognized for being Gay-friendly and in México we are proud to have several of them! Here we share a list of places that definitely you need to have in mind when planning your next trip.



With large areas dedicated exclusively to gay audience, such as La Zona Rosa, Mexico City has had official campaigns in which people ask to respect sexual diversity. Strolling through the colonias Condesa, Polanco, Nápoles and Juárez, the free expression of love a lot of couples of the same sex makes you know you’re in gay-friendly territory. The heart is in the Zona Rosa, a neighborhood full of gay restaurants and hotels.




4. Cancún

Cancun is one of the most attractive destinations not only among the gay community, but the entire population worldwide; Playa Delfines is one of the world’s most popular gay destinations. Some of the most outstanding beaches are: Las Perlas and the Parque de las Palapas, ideal sites for “flirting”.

It also has amazing resorts such as Oasis Sens and Secret’s The Vine, which are renowned for being gay friendly and having modern facilities including bars, restaurants and spa. For the evening there are several bars and clubs, like the Karamba Bar (downtown), famous for its theme parties; Picante Bar, where delicious drinks are served; 11:11, lounge style and shows; and Feelings Bar, coffee bar and relaxed atmosphere.



3. Cuernavaca

An hour’s drive from Mexico City, is Cuernavaca, in the state of Morelos, famous for having one of the most pleasant climates around the country, which is known as the “City of Eternal Spring “.

The LGBT community prefers it for its offer of wonderful rest homes, spectacular gardens, spas and boutique hotels, where you can disconnect from the routine to immerse yourselve in an atmosphere of comfort, open spaces and personalized attention. In the city and its surroundings you will find fabulous gay friendly hotels and other targeted exclusively to the LGBT community, bars, cafés and particularly in Cuernavaca, a dynamic nightlife.



2. Guadalajara

Although the D.F is called the most gay-friendly city in all Mexico, mexicans say it is in Guadalajara where more gay people live, so that in recent years the institutions devoted to the LGBT community have multiplied. The historic center of Guadalajara has a wide range of gastronomic offers and nightly entertainment and because of its proximity to Puerto Vallarta, coastal city with a very large gay offer, it makes the capital of Jalisco an important gay pole.



1. Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta has been a favorite destination for LGBT, national and international community for some time, its annual festival Vallarta Pride, has popularized further the destination, which also has a great environment for everyone – from the gay beach Playa Los Muertos to the cool martini bars and nightclubs where you can dance the night away. You will find the famous LGBT de Abbey, Blue Chairs Resort and Casa Cupula, Hotel boutique all inclusive. Playa Los Muertos is south of the Rio Cuale in the Romantic Zone, which many people consider the most charming and picturesque neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta. Most gay places are located in this area or nearby.


For daytime entertainment, nothing better than taking a gay cruise or tour. For example, there is the Atlantis Gay Cruise, Wet & Wild Gay Cruise and other excursions and adventure activities. In the afternoon go to the street Olas Altas, with magnificent Parisian-style cafes. For the night you will find numerous options, most located in the Romantic Zone.

Some of the favorite clubs of the city are CC Slaughters PV, Antro Enter with electronic music and Paco’s Ranch. If you prefer to a bar, go to Apaches, Encore, Garbo or Sama. To relax visit the Sparticus  Spa. We have a lot of gay-friendly places!
